Part of the Cardano blockchain ecosystem, Symphony has started out as an interactive 3D explorer that allowed users to traverse the topographic history of the Bitcoin blockchain. The popularity of the experience has led to the expansion into Symphony v2.0 virtual reality experience. As the visual and interface designer of a cross-functional team, I was responsible for the visual direction for both v1.0 and v2.0 versions. The goal of the work was to provide participants with the chance to immerse themselves in the blockchain world and understand its core functionality.
The presented VR design direction shows the v2.0 experience with the primary focus to establish the visual language for the product's future evolution. I envisioned a spaceship cockpit view that was intended to take the visitor on an immersive journey into the world of blockchain technology. They could experience the thrill of piloting through the blocks of the chain, zooming in and out of them to gain a better understanding of the term and dynamics. I've chosen a tech-minimalist UI design to support the interactions for both web and VR interfaces. The task involved creating a robust GUI and a comprehensive component library for the project.
