Job Portals for UX/UI Designers – Part 2

As a lot of my former mentees are currently trying to navigate the post-tech-layoff/startup bubble burst ecosystem of Createch, adjustments of the search methods seems to be necessary. As the most well-known platforms become overcrowded, the less well-known ones become more important. In Part 1, the article on Job Portals for UX/UI Designers listed the sites that received the most positive feedback for securing interviews via their listings. Adding to those quite established platforms, this article adds a few more alternatives to consider when searching for open positions in the current climate.

Apart from the search channels, the approach to searching also requires a slight shift towards a more proactive attitude. It seems that sending a resume to job listings now is not sufficient, especially for entry level designers. Most of my mentees who secured a new role in this climate highlighted the need to stand out from the crowd by reaching out to the person who posted the opening or activating their peer network for referrals. Do keep in mind the etiquette of outreach and seek inspiration for the best methods. Good luck!
